Power Block
The Power Block for all modems can only be installed:
- With 1 inch of clearance around the unit
Modem Placement
Placement Considerations
- There cannot be any more than 150 feet of coaxial cable between the modem and the TRIA
- The modem must be within 8 to 11 feet of a power outlet, depending on the model of the power supply
- The Ethernet cable provided with the satellite modem is 7 feet long. The customer computer must be within 7 feet of the satellite modem to use this cable. The customer can supply a longer cable if they desire
- Keep the Satellite Modem away from heat, liquid and magnetic interference
- The Satellite Modem must have at least 3 3/4 inches of clearance from the back for proper cabling
- Remember that the Modem must have one inch of clearance from the front and sides for airflow
Viasat WiFi Gateway
Must be installed:
- Horizontally on its feet
- With 1 inch of clearance around the front and sides of the unit
Viasat Home Gateway
Must be installed:
- Horizontally on its feet
- With 1 inch of clearance around the front and sides of the unit
SurfBeam2+
Must be installed:
- Vertically, using the included stand
- With the coax cable connector attached, for heat dissipation
- With 1 inch of clearance around the front and sides of the unit
SurfBeam2
Must be installed:
- Horizontally (on its feet), or
- Vertically, on the side with a curved protrusion (this allows for proper heat propagation), or
- Vertically to a wall, using the two wall mount notches
- With 1 inch of clearance around the front and sides of the unit
